Reindeer Run is a holiday-themed 5K, 10K, 15K and half marathon at Griffith Park in Los Angeles. Join us on Saturday, December 19, 2026. The race starts at 7:30 AM, and bib pickup is on race morning from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM.
Run or walk the hard-packed dirt horse trail at Griffith Park with a holiday theme. Every registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, live results and free photos. Runners and walkers of every level are welcome.
This is an open course. Please be courteous to other pedestrians, runners, and equestrians on the shared trail.
Course map:
The course is super easy to follow. The start/finish will be on the grass area shown in the image below and go right across the street onto the trail which is hard packed dirt (horse trail). It will be marked with cones/signs. Shared path with others, please stay to your right and pass carefully on the left. The course is all on the dirt trail besides the brief street crossing. The turn around will be off to the side of the trail.

When and where is Reindeer Run in Griffith Park?
Reindeer Run is on Saturday, December 19, 2026 at Griffith Park, 4730 Crystal Springs Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90027. The start/finish is on a grass area near the picnic tables, between the Merry-Go-Round and the corner of Crystal Springs Dr and Fire Rd. The race starts at 7:30 AM.
What distances and courses are offered?
We offer a 5K, 10K, 15K and half marathon. The course is a hard-packed dirt horse trail shared with pedestrians and equestrians, with one brief street crossing. It is marked with cones and signs. Keep to the right and pass on the left. The 5K is one loop, the 10K is two 5K loops and the 15K is three 5K loops. The half marathon is three loops of about 4.37 miles. There is an aid station at the turnaround with water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups and GU gels.
How much does it cost to register?
Race-day registration is $35 for the 5K, $40 for the 10K, $45 for the 15K and $50 for the half marathon, paid by credit card, cash, Apple Pay, Venmo, Zelle or PayPal. You can also register online through Race Ascend using the registration form on this page. Please choose one registration method only.
What is included in registration?
Every registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, live results the moment you finish, free photos found by bib number, free videos, race highlight reels, snacks and samples, and the free A Better World Running app. Age group awards are picked up at the race only and are not mailed. Groups of 3 or more get an automatic discount on Race Ascend, and larger groups can email abetterworldrunning@gmail.com to register together with one payment by Venmo or Zelle.
Where do I park?
Park in the large lot near the Merry-Go-Round, entering from Crystal Springs Dr and Fire Rd.
When and where is bib pickup?
Bib pickup is on race day from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM. Please wear your bib visibly on the front so your photos and results are recorded.
Is there a time limit?
The time limit for the half marathon is 3 hours 15 minutes. If you need more time, email abetterworldrunning@gmail.com to arrange an early start.
Can I get a refund or transfer my registration?
There is a no refund policy. You can transfer your registration to a later race date or to another participant by emailing abetterworldrunning@gmail.com.
